Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."  Matthew 9:14

Godly Play (children's church) is held during the 10:15 a.m. worship service. The children are present in the sanctuary for the beginning of the service and, after the "Children's Talk", they leave the sanctuary for Godly Play. They return to the main service in time to celebrate communion with their parents. Godly Play teaches children the art of using Christian language--parable, sacred story, silence and liturgical action--helping them become more fully aware of the mystery of God's presence in their lives.

It's about understanding how each of the stories of God's people connects with the child's own experience and relationship with God. The goal of Godly Play is to show how to be open to the Holy Spirit, the Creator and the Redeemer all at once and all the time in every place.

Please feel free to contact Judy Baldwin or Brenda Nichols as they introduce this exciting new adventure to your children and to you. Judy and Brenda can be reached at 259-5810 or hopeoffice@att.net.

NURSERY CARE: We offer nursery care in our Veggie Tales themed nursery for infants through age 3. During the 10:15 am service we employ a trained childcare provider to watch over our children. She’s been taking care of Hope’s children for 12 years! Childcare is also available on Wednesday evenings during Common Ground and other special events.

QUIET ROOM: Having children in church is one of many wonderful things about worship. If you feel that your child may need a quiet space we have a comfortable room adjacent the sanctuary and library. The room has a one way mirror as well as a full sound system so you will not miss any part of the service, and there are toys and books for the children who visit there.

Vacation Bible School Hope holds a Vacation Bible School every year.  And every year is a new adventure!  Sometimes we’ve had a Fiesta of a good time, or an Under the Sea Adventure.  One year we even went out West and visited Avalanche Ranch! In 2008 we made it a family affair and families as well as individuals from infants to grandparents were transported back into Jesus’ time to a Jerusalem Marketplace.  It was an experience and adventure that none of us would have missed, so in 2009 we went back in time again – to ROME, experiencing what it was like to be an early Christian with Paul as our teacher!

Please watch for our VBS schedule and registration posting in the late spring of 2010. We hope you will join us.

Please contact the church office at 259-5810 for more information on any of our Ministry offerings.
